Sterigenics® is pleased to announce that a new sterilization technology has been installed in the Sterigenics Petit-Rechain, Belgium facility. The new sterilizer will use Noxilizer’s Nitrogen Dioxide Technology to continue to expand our service offering to support our customer base. The technology utilizes NO2 gas which addresses many of the challenges associated with specific products. NO2 is effective against a wide range of microorganisms. The primary mechanism of lethality is the degradation of DNA. NO2 can sterilize at ultra-low temperatures, minimal vacuum and is a surface sterilant, all important characteristics for drug-device combination products.
